Retractable Awning
Retractable awnings are the perfect solution for providing shade and relief from the heat. Whether you’re hosting a party or relaxing by the pool, you can use an awning to expand the shaded area of your outdoor living space. Retractable awnings are easily retracted by manual or motorized operation.
Manual Hand Crank
- Crank operator gear with 9-to-1 gear ratio.
- Simply use the hand crank to retract the awning in and out. The wand can be removed from the gearbox eyelet and stored elsewhere.
Motorized System
- Wireless remote controlled motor system at the touch-of-a-button!
- Automatically control your awning from inside or outside the house.
Crank Manual Override
- In the event of an emergency power outage this allows the awning to be retracted in at a 1:55 ratio.
CROSS-ARM
- The Cross Arm allows the Retractable Awning to obtain projections that are greater than the awning’s width. One arm hangs slightly below the other arm. A longer 11” valance is needed to hide the lower arm.
Mounting Options
Wall Mount
Wall Mount - Standard mounting that attaches to the header that runs along the top of the fixed patio with 3/8” lag bolts. 8” of mounting room is needed for standard installation and 12” of mounting room is needed for an added on hood cover. 2 powder coated aluminum brackets needed on each retractable arm.
Roof Mount
Roof Mount - These custom roof brackets are designed to mount to an asphalt shingle roof and cannot mount to tile roofs. 2 powder coated stainless steel brackets are needed on each retractable arm.
Ceiling Mount
Ceiling Mount - Custom ceiling brackets needed to mount the retractable awning underneath the beam. The awning will be visible in opening and hood covers cannot be offered.
Fascia Mount
Fascia Mount - Custom fascia brackets designed and manufactured to fit your homes’ rafters. These mounts are typically recommended when there is a lack of wall mounting space. Fascia brackets cannot be installed through rain gutters and can only mount to rafters that are exposed. 2 custom steel brackets needed on each retractable arm.
Soffit Mount
Soffit Mount - Typically used on gable ended homes due to lack of supporting wood in non-weight bearing walls. 2 steel brackets needed on each retractable arm.
What’s Included:
Standard Mounting Brackets
Powder coated aluminum brackets needed for all installations. These brackets attach the retractable awning to your home ensuring a safe, secure, and lasting installation.
Aluminum Retractable Arms and Front Bar
Liberty only uses arms that perform a testing process, uses extruded aluminum, pivot system brackets that attach to the front bar allowing more arm flexibility, spin arms with the highest quality spring system and high-grade double German chain.
Steel Roller Tube and Back Bar
70-mm & 80-mm roller tube and back bar, the roller tube is galvanized steel and the back bar is a powder coated steel.
Valance Designs
Standard 9” Valance - Available in 10 different styles to choose from. Choice of multiple binding/edging colors.
100% UV Blocking Fabric
- Recacril - a UV and fade resistant, solution dyed acrylic fabric. Liberty keeps this fabric in stock and is available in “HOA friendly” colors.
- Sunbrella - Sunbrella is a UV and fade resistant, solution dyed acrylic fabric, available in hundreds of colors.
Accessories
Awning Drop Curtain
Awning Drop Curtain – Manual retractable screen that slides into the aluminum front bar to provide extra shade during morning and evening sun. This screen gets secured with velcro ties and tucks away underneath the valance when not in use.

Adjustable Pitch Arms
Adjustable Pitch Arms - This added eyelet to the R-pitch knuckle allows you to manually adjust the angle of the awning with a hand crank. This is most resourceful when experiencing morning and evening sun and is only available on units with a max width of 20’ and a max projection of 10’ 2”.
Light Kit
Light Kit - This dimmable LED RTS Light kit is seamlessly integrated into the awning arms and is controlled with the same remote as the awning. This feature cannot be added onto a preexisting awning.
Motion Sensor
Motion Sensor - This sensor is a precaution to unstable weather environments attaching to the front bar to measure the most vulnerable part of the awning. This detects the motion when the awning is deployed and signals to the motor to retract when necessary.
Aluminum Hood Cover
Hood Cover - The hood cover is powder coated aluminum that protects the fabric and components when the awning is not in use.

- Hand Crank – Crank the awning out until arms are fully extended (arms will always be slightly bent) and then crank back in one full turn so arms are not locked in the extended position.
- TIP: If cranked too far out, the fabric will loosen. If this happens, turn the crank back in to tension the fabric. It may be difficult to turn, so check to make sure fabric rolls correctly onto the top of the roller tube.
- Motorized – Press the wall-mounted toggle switch or use the remote control to extend and stop the awning at the desired point.
- TIP: Do not run the motor through its full travel (all the way up, then and all the way down) more than two times in 15 minutes. To prevent overheating, a built-in thermo switch will temporarily shut off the power to the motor for 30-45 minutes to cool it off and prepare it for normal operation again.

- Sun & Wind Sensor – This sensor automatically retracts or extends the awning according to the weather conditions.
- Hood (Optional) – This protective, powder coated, metal hood can prevent the top of the fabric roll from getting dirty and receiving overexposure from the sun.
- Awning Curtain – A Drop Curtain made of solar screen material or Sunbrella fabric drops from the front hem bar, past the valance to extend the shade time of your awning by blocking morning or late afternoon sunlight.
- Wind Support Legs – Support legs can be installed on either end of your awning to help stabilize the awning in windy conditions.
