As long as I can remember I have always been a Sylvester Stallone fan.\u00a0 Iconic movies such as Rambo, Cobra, and Copland are permanently stuck in my brain.\u00a0 However, none of his movies have had more of an impact on me and my life than \u201cRocky.\u201d\u00a0 There\u2019s just something special about a great \u201cunder dog\u201d story and Rocky is pretty much the epitome of the \u201cunder dog.\u201d<\/p>\n

As fate would have it my good friend, colleague, and sometimes client, John has been producing content for the RockyShop for about six years.\u00a0 He was invited to Philly for the first ever \u201cRocky Day.\u201d\u00a0 I was lucky enough to be his plus one and we covered the event and shot content for the RockyShop.\u00a0 The whole day led up to a special VIP photo op where we got to meet Mr. Stallone himself and get our picture taken with him.\u00a0 It was literally a dream come true.<\/p>\n

Believe it or not, the cherry on top wasn\u2019t even the picture with Mr. Stallone, it was that I got to bring my apprentice and our Nashville apprentice along for the ride.\u00a0 They helped cover the event as well.\u00a0 It was a hell of challenge dealing with rain all day long and massive crowds but we all made it happen.<\/p>\n

I was primarily shooting on the Sony Fx9 and my apprentice was shooting on the Sony FX3.\u00a0 We had to put on our camera rain gear but that\u2019s okay.\u00a0 It was well worth it.<\/p>\n

Our Nashville apprentice had his own challenges.\u00a0 He had to tap into the press mult-box, keep his boom dry, and had to literally have the audio bag strapped to his chest all day.<\/p>\n

In some ways we all climbed our own mountain and defeated Drago with Bill Conti\u2019s iconic music playing the back ground.<\/p>\n

We went the distance.\u00a0 Just like Rocky.<\/p>\n

To cap off an amazing day we all had dinner at Victor\u2019s Cafe.\u00a0 This might not seem like a fitting end to the story but it sure was.\u00a0 Why?\u00a0 Because Victor\u2019s Cafe was used as \u201cAdrian\u2019s\u201d restaurant in Rocky 6 AKA Rocky Balboa.<\/p>\n

Yo, Adrian, we did it!<\/p>\n

Oh yeah, and Chevy Chase was there too.\u00a0 I have no idea why.\u00a0 He must be a Rocky fan too.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
