In this particular episode, Tapper was joined by former CIA Director and Secretary of Defense, Leon Panetta, to discuss the ongoing issues in Iran.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

CNN brought in our San Francisco DP<\/a>, Zach Reed, to capture the live hit. Zach set up a Kinoflo Celeb and a Generay Light panel as the key lights. They also had another Generay Light Panel armed out for a hairlight and an Arri 150 Tungsten to add some light to the background. Our crew used a Sony F5 camera to capture the live hit.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Capturing live news can be a lot of pressure since there\u2019s little room to mess up. In breaking news situations, it\u2019s easier to plan your live shot. Position your lights for the look you want and capture the background that most reflects the breaking news that you\u2019re capturing. For some live shots you might want to be tight on the subject, however if the background is important to the piece, getting a wider angle may be necessary.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
