The Kentucky Derby is considered the {mane} event of the equestrian world!<\/span><\/p>\n

Kentucky Derby history was made at Churchill Downs in Louisville on May 4th. For the first time in the history of the Derby, a disqualification took place for alleged racetrack infractions. A controversial finish prompted a public outcry after the first horse to cross the finish, Maximum Security, was disqualified for drifting out and impacting the progress of other horses.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Kentucky<\/p>\n

Maximum Security was on track to leave the race with a perfect record for a triple crown after a first-place finish at the Florida Derby. After review, chief steward Barbara Borden stated that \u00a0Country Horse was the true winner of the 2019 Kentucky Derby. <\/span><\/p>\n

NBC Sports partnered with New York City<\/a> DP Reid Petro<\/a> to capture an interview with a legendary horse trainer, Bill Mott. <\/span><\/p>\n

The crew set up in front of Bill\u2019s barn in Belmont Park with a Sony F5 and LED light panels to ensure even lighting on the subjects face. Bill is the trainer for Country House, who was labeled the overall winner for the race. <\/span><\/p>\n
