A few years ago one of Susan Thixton<\/a>‘s dogs died of bone cancer. Her vet linked it to a chemical in his dog food. That chemical is still approved by the FDA<\/a>. The TruthAboutPetFood.com<\/a> author is trying to change that – for her dogs and cats sake, and others. Dr. Joseph J. Wakshlag, vet nutritionist at Cornell<\/a> says the AAFCO<\/a>, the Association of American Feed Control Officials, requires no testing by pet food manufacturers. It is up to the consumer to get answers before buying their pet food.<\/p>\n
