Drake<\/a> hosted the first ever NBA Awards<\/a>. Celebrity shoe cams littered the red carpet. Many awards were given, but one of the most special was the Sager Strong Award<\/a>, given to a courageous and compassionate trailblazer. It was presented to Monty Williams, retired professional basketball player and coach. That’s why we were there.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Doc Knows Best<\/h5>\n

Our Los Angeles director of photography talked to many basketball greats about Williams, and had the pleasure of sitting down with Doc Rivers<\/a> for a special feature. Rivers is a former NBA<\/a> player and is the head coach and president of operations for the LA Clippers<\/a>. He’s known in the league for his great defense. We set up at Clippers<\/a> headquarters and heard Rivers speak highly of Williams\u2019 strength and grace. Williams is currently the vice president of operations for the San Antonio Spurs<\/a> and was formerly the head coach for the New Orleans Pelicans<\/a>. He also played for the New York Knicks<\/a>, San Antonio Spurs<\/a>, Denver Nuggets<\/a>, Orlando Magic<\/a> and Philadelphia 76ers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It was great working with Turner<\/a> and Doc Rivers to highlight the man and award.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
