\"NickWorking the week leading up to the Super Bowl is always cool.\u00a0 But, it\u2019s even cooler when the client is Nickelodeon<\/a>.\u00a0 Why?\u00a0 SLIME! That\u2019s why.\u00a0 Yes, I\u2019m talking about the green, gooey stuff that used to drop on contestants of various game shows on the kid-friendly network.\u00a0 I grew up watching that stuff.\u00a0 It was awesome.<\/p>\n

Speaking of slime.\u00a0 If you\u2019re reading this blog to hear about the coolest thing I shot this week then I\u2019ll save you some time, it was slime.\u00a0 It was shooting one of the stars of \u201cDude Perfect\u201d get slimed at 180fps on my Sony F5.\u00a0 Boom.\u00a0 SLIME!\u00a0 The producers were talking about those slo-mo shots days after that footage was ingested.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\"Nick<\/p>\n

We had a blast working for Nick Sports<\/a> all week.\u00a0 We were essentially a promo crew which meant we shot promos, stand-ups, and supplemental segments for Nickelodeon\u2019s \u201cSuperstar Slime Showdown at Super Bowl.\u201d\u00a0 The special aired the afternoon before the Super Bowl.<\/p>\n

One of our busiest days was Monday.\u00a0 We shot a ton of stand-ups with Breanna Yde<\/a>, star of Nickelodeon\u2019s \u201cSchool of Rock.\u201d\u00a0 That night we were at Minute Maid Park in downtown Houston for \u201cOpening Night,\u201d which is basically a media night.\u00a0 We did a \u201cman on the street\u201d piece with Kel Mitchell<\/a> dressed like his famous character from the Goodburger skits on \u201cAll That.\u201d\u00a0 Kel walked around media night and interviewed various players from the Falcons<\/a> and Patriots<\/a>.\u00a0 It was so much fun to shoot.<\/p>\n

The week was so busy it\u2019s honestly hard to remember everything that we shot.\u00a0 We shot interviews with a ton of football players, some of which were retired.\u00a0 We crossed paths with L.T.<\/a>, Andy Dalton<\/a>, Drew Brees<\/a>, and Emmanuel Sanders<\/a>.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

I got so distracted by green slime and world class athletes that I forgot to mention our sweet camera rig.\u00a0 I was rocking a Sony F5 with a Canon 17-120mm.\u00a0 I had an Odyssey 7Qplus attached to back which always works great as a monitor that producers can look at.\u00a0 On top of that, I also had a Teradeck Bolt 300 transmitter mounted to my rig.\u00a0 The Teradeck was sending an HD signal to a mobile Small HD monitor.\u00a0 We had a lot of producers floating around set so it was super valuable having two ways to view our camera feed.\u00a0 Needless to say, this was a very heavy camera rig.\u00a0 Our shoulders got quite the workout.<\/p>\n

Overall, the week went very well.\u00a0 Houston was an excellent Super Bowl host city.\u00a0 It might be my favorite Super Bowl location so far.\u00a0 (I\u2019ve worked Super Bowls in both Dallas and New Orleans.)\u00a0 I can\u2019t wait for next year\u2019s Super Bowl up in Minnesota.\u00a0 I\u2019ve got a feeling Nickelodeon might be giving us a call again.<\/p>\n
