Texas Video Camera Crew with Feherty<\/h5>\n

I love my job because I can say I spent half the day with Mathew McConaughey<\/a> on his birthday.\u00a0 Let me back up.\u00a0 I spent two days working at the Spanish Oaks Golf Club outside Austin, Texas<\/a> for the Golf Channel<\/a>.\u00a0 I was working on another episode of Golf Channel\u2019s \u201cFeherty<\/a>.\u201d\u00a0 If you\u2019ve never seen this show, you should check it out.\u00a0 Former golf pro, David Feherty is one funny guy!<\/p>\n

The first day of the shoot was spent setting up cameras, video village and running BNC.\u00a0 We used four Sony F55s and one Canon 5D Mark 3 for the interview.\u00a0 My F55 had a Canon 70-200mm f2.8 mounted to it.\u00a0 I was covering the single on David Feherty.\u00a0 It was a pretty extensive set up. \u00a0Thankfully, we had a whole grip truck at our disposal.<\/p>\n

The second day of the shoot was a more intense day.\u00a0 We lit the interview in the morning.\u00a0 Once Feherty and McConaughey got on set we grabbed two Sony A7s and headed out onto the course.\u00a0 Feherty and McConaughey played two holes and chatted about life.\u00a0 It was basically the first part of the interview.\u00a0 I ran all over that golf course getting ahead of the two as they walked down the fairway.\u00a0 At one point I was laying on the ground with the lens of my camera at the edge of the hole.\u00a0 McConaughey was putting.\u00a0 His ball hit my lens a couple of times before it went in.<\/p>\n

We ended the second day with a two-hour interview at the clubhouse.\u00a0 It was one of the most fascinating interviews I\u2019ve ever shot! \u00a0Feherty and McConaughey talked about life, golf, acting and everything in between.\u00a0 After the interview, all the footage was copied over to a hard drive while we packed up.<\/p>\n

We never had the opportunity to shoot exteriors and signage of the golf club earlier in the day, so once we were all packed up I ran out and shot some scenics.\u00a0 The producers had to catch a flight so I offered to dropbox the footage once I got home.\u00a0 It only added up to a couple gigs anyways.<\/p>\n

This was an awesome shoot.\u00a0 Matthew McConaughey was a very interesting individual.\u00a0 It was a blast to be able to help celebrate McConaughey\u2019s birthday with him.\u00a0 I can\u2019t wait to see this episode of \u201cFeherty.\u201d<\/p>\n
