Here’s out setup from day three at Pink’s.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

I had the pleasure of working in L.A. these past three days.\u00a0 It was awesome.\u00a0 I was shooting for NBA TV\u2019s \u201cAfter Dark with Rick Fox.\u201d\u00a0 What made the experience even better was that I got to work with L.A. DP, Mark Phillips and San Francisco DP, Craig Goodale.\u00a0 We were shooting on an assortment of Sony cameras including the F55, F5, and A7S.\u00a0 S-Log 2 was requested by the producer.<\/p>\n

I worked with Mark the first two days. Day one was spent up in the Hollywood Hills.\u00a0 We shot an interview with Rick and comedian, Mike Epps as they shot pool.\u00a0 We used two Litepanel Astras to bounce light off the ceiling.\u00a0 Mark and I cross shot with our respective cameras while our sound guy\/apprentice, Jacob moved a Sony A7S back and forth on a MYT slider.<\/p>\n

Day two was spent on the set of Disney\u2019s \u201cK.C. Undercover.\u201d\u00a0 Rick Fox plays one of the show\u2019s villains. \u00a0 He sat down with his co-star Zendaya for a one on one interview.\u00a0 Once again, we used a couple of Mark\u2019s Astra Litepanels with soft boxes attached to light our subjects.\u00a0 We shot behind the scenes b-roll after the interview.<\/p>\n

On the last day I met up with Craig at Pink\u2019s, an L.A. staple.\u00a0 We used one of his HMI\u2019s to boost the ambience in the joint.\u00a0 For this interview, Rick sat down with \u201cFresh Off the Boat\u201d co-star, Hudson Yang.\u00a0 They stuffed hot dogs in their mouths as they talked about sports, acting, and life.\u00a0 For this interview we had Jacob mount the A7S to a Ronin for a third angle while Craig and I cross shot on the Sony F55 and F5.<\/p>\n

Shooting for \u201cAfter Dark\u201d was a lot of fun.\u00a0 It was great to get more hands on time with the Sony F5 and the Canon 17-120mm.\u00a0 That camera\/lens combination is second to none.\u00a0 Before I knew it I was on a flight back to Texas.\u00a0 I can\u2019t wait to shoot for this show again.<\/p>\n
