{"id":22401,"date":"2015-06-30T11:45:05","date_gmt":"2015-06-30T15:45:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/120.72.95.94:55167\/assignmentdesk\/site\/?p=22401"},"modified":"2016-05-15T08:12:39","modified_gmt":"2016-05-15T12:12:39","slug":"chicago-crew-covers-a-certified-disco-legend-on-unsung","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/120.72.95.94:55167\/assignmentdesk\/site\/2015\/chicago-crew-covers-a-certified-disco-legend-on-unsung\/","title":{"rendered":"Chicago Crew Covers A Certified Disco Legend on Unsung"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/assets.gototeam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/12202241\/disco-lady-2-300x225.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-22402\" src=\"http:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/assets.gototeam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/12202241\/disco-lady-2-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"disco lady 2\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I traveled from Chicago to Atlanta to shoot interviews for the <em>Unsung<\/em> documentary series.<\/p>\n<p>What I enjoyed most about shooting for Unsung were all the stories that were shared about these virtuoso musicians.<\/p>\n<p>This past week\u2019s shoot was focused on R&amp;B legend, Johnnie Taylor, who is best known for \u201cDisco Lady\u201d, which hit record-breaking sales.<\/p>\n<p>The King of Disco was the first person ever to reach certified platinum with the single.<\/p>\n<p>Johnnie Taylor not only broke records but he set a lot of fashion trends with the way he dressed, acted on stage and the cars he drove.<\/p>\n<p>I used HDX900 camera for the sit-down interviews. A lot of the folks brought photos of them and Johnnie Taylor that had to be scanned in.<\/p>\n<p>His close friends and old band members noted the King of Discos smooth and soulful sound stretched across four decades.<\/p>\n<p>For me, this was a quick and easy shoot.
