{"id":15553,"date":"2012-06-25T09:00:00","date_gmt":"2012-06-25T13:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/120.72.95.94:55167\/assignmentdesk\/site\/?p=15553"},"modified":"2016-05-12T17:00:12","modified_gmt":"2016-05-12T21:00:12","slug":"nashville-crew-shoots-for-speed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/120.72.95.94:55167\/assignmentdesk\/site\/2012\/nashville-crew-shoots-for-speed\/","title":{"rendered":"Nashville Crew Shoots for SPEED with NASCAR Legends"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-15554\" title=\"IMG_1140\" src=\"http:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/assets.gototeam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/12195551\/IMG_1140-600x448.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"448\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Usually if I\u2019m shooting for SPEED it means I\u2019m in Charlotte.\u00a0 However, this time SPEED came to me.\u00a0 We ended up shooting three features in two days.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_15555\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15555\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-15555\" title=\"Screen shot 2012-03-11 at 6.45.18 PM\" src=\"http:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/assets.gototeam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/12195551\/Screen-shot-2012-03-11-at-6.45.18-PM-300x168.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"168\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-15555\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Mmmm, 5D shallow depth of field.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The first day we shot a feature on the old Fairgrounds Speedway located in Nashville.\u00a0 I was rocking the HDX 900, 5D, and Contour POV camera.\u00a0 We were rolling as the sun came up.\u00a0 Shooting all the track beauty shots with that beautiful golden hour light added this \u201cepic\u201d quality to the footage.\u00a0 We then shot interviews with the track owner, a NASCAR historian, and Sterling Marlin.\u00a0 I then attached my Contour to the front of the producer\u2019s car.\u00a0 He did a few laps on the track, which gave us some really cool POV footage.\u00a0 Before leaving the track we also shot old photographs with elements of the track in the background on the 5D.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">We spent the rest of the day in Clarksville, TN with former NASCAR driver, Jeff Purvis.\u00a0 The first stop was at his sheet metal business.\u00a0 We filmed him doing what he does there and got some sound bites.\u00a0 We finished the day at Jeff\u2019s house where we shot a sit down interview.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_15556\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15556\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-15556\" title=\"Screen shot 2012-03-11 at 6.51.04 PM\" src=\"http:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/assets.gototeam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/12195551\/Screen-shot-2012-03-11-at-6.51.04-PM-300x168.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"168\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-15556\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Former NASCAR driver, Jeff Purvis.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The second day was spent down in Columbia, TN at Sterling Marlin\u2019s family farm.\u00a0 We shot footage of Marlin feeding his cows, knocking down trees with his bulldozer, and working on his race cars.\u00a0 We shot a sit down interview in his race shop where we not only used the HDX 900 but the 5D as well.\u00a0 We even got some b-roll of Sterling\u2019s Civil War artifact collection.\u00a0 SPEED should come out to the Music City more often!<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_15557\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15557\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-15557\" title=\"IMG_1125\" src=\"http:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/assets.gototeam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/12195551\/IMG_1125-300x224.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-15557\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">It&#39;s not everyday you get to work with a former Daytona 500 champion.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Usually if I\u2019m shooting for SPEED it means I\u2019m in Charlotte.\u00a0 However, this time SPEED came to me.\u00a0 We ended up shooting three features in two days.
