The whole world’s eyes are watching the evolution of a pandemic. It can be frightening and emotionally draining. We wanted to take a step back from the news and highlight a recent positive shoot with the Wounded Warrior Project.

Who doesn’t love hearing about women’s empowerment? Recently, the Wounded Warrior Project teamed up with the United Service Organizations and Campbell Strong Workforce Partnership for its very first Empowering Women Career Summit. The event focused on educating and empowering women while helping them find jobs. It also gave them tools on how to look for jobs as well as interview tips. The main focus of the event? Bringing success into lives post-military.

Included in the event were public speakers, panelists, and a career fair focused on the types of jobs that are targeted to military spouses, transitioning service members and veterans. It was a great opportunity to network and help these women jumpstart their professional careers.

Wounded Warrior Project brought in Go To Team’s St. Louis cameraman, Sam Caravana, to document the summit. Sam helped capture interviews with the participants of the summit as well as b-roll of the event. He used his LED panels to light the subjects in their interviews. These light panels are widely used because of how easy they are to set up and their portability. He also used a nearby potted plant and an American flag to dress up a plain conference room and make it visually more interesting.

Sam chose to shoot on his Canon C300 MKII camera and utilized the camera’s proxy function. This allowed him to give small video files to the Wounded Warrior Project editor. This enabled the editor to quickly identify selects and send the footage to local TV stations for their consideration.

Thank you to the Wounded Warrior Project for allowing our video camera crews to capture this summit. We look forward to bringing more positive stories to light with your team in the near future!
