CNBC is there to cover this opportunity in The Future of Business as they examine the United States as we go through an extraordinary era of change and disruption.

CNBC brought in our Chicago cameraman, Kyle Kaiser, and our Cleveland DP, Jordan Woods, to come in and capture an episode of The Future of Business with the CEO of DOW Chemical, Jim Fitterling.

Our crews started the shoot with the interview of the subject, which was shot in the main lobby of the DOW Chemical headquarters. The space was large with huge glass walls on one side which provided a ton of natural light throughout the room. Jordan and Kye used the natural lighting to their advantage in this shoot.

When capturing a shot using mostly natural lighting, there are a few things that can come in handy that will help you out. Using reflectors and flags is a big one. There are going to be situations where you need to fill in light, create negative fill, or add a splash of light in the background. When using natural lighting, your options reduce to reflectors and flags. They used Astra lite panels to light the subject and a Road Flag to block out the window light on his fill side.

After the interview was done, our crew moved around in a pack to grab some b-roll of Jim in two different locations around the headquarters. After this, Kyle headed downtown to get a few shots of Midland while Jordan shot more b-roll at DOW HQ.
