Nearly 1.3 million people die in road crashes each year, which averages 3,287 deaths a day. Daily Planet wanted to highlight a very important professor who conducts extensive research to try and lower that number.

Professor Frank Pintar studies car crash injuries, specifically oblique crashes – where the front corner of one car hits or is hit by something. He doesn’t think that there are enough protective measures for that kind of crash, so he wants to remedy that. Lots of GoPros were used for this shoot and it was an intense process circling around the wrecks to get all the shots.

It was very important work being shown. Drive safe and wear your seatbelt. And check out the segment here.
