Yeah, you read that right but it’s not what you think. That just seemed like a catchy title for this blog. I recently shot a feature for the Steve Harvey Show. It’s about over worked moms who have husbands or children who don’t think being a mom is a full time job. Well, being a mom is a full time job! Duh.
To prove that point, Mr. Harvey treats the mom to a day at the spa and has the husband take care of the kids and household chores. That’s where we come in. We document the struggle. This was a two-camera shoot. We shot on the HDX-900, recording to a Nano Flash.
Our day started with interviews of the couple. I used my 400w and 200w Kino Flo to light the interviews. We then proceeded to follow the husband all day as he juggled chores and their one-year-old twin boys. Throughout the day we pulled him aside to do some “on the fly” interviews. My 400w Kino Flo came in handy for this situation. The day climaxed with a trip to the grocery store. It was definitely a sight to see him deal with a shopping cart and a stroller with two babies. I can’t wait to see the finished “Moms on Strike” piece. On to the next shoot!
