Raleigh’s Hall crew spent a couple of days at Epic Games (the video game company behind the blockbuster “Gears of War” franchise) for G4’s most-watched gaming show X-Play. Epic recently expanded their 31,000 sq ft office with a 135,000-square-foot addition, known to locals as ‘The Pentagon of Gaming’ we took the tour to check out the new digs! Epic Games’ design director Cliff Bleszinski guided X-Play’s host Morgan Webb and crew through the mega-campus. Our stops included the Motion Capture Studio, Cliff’s office, the massive break room/kitchen, game room, the infamous slide which recently snapped a programmer’s ankle in half(check out the video Sound Tech Ian McCullen shot of me shooting a POV), and some electric scooter shenanigans in the hallways.
Day 2 We shot Morgan playing a few rounds of the new Gears of War 3 which will release in the fall of 2011…followed by couple of sit down interviews with Cliff and and Gears of War Executive Producer Rod Fergusson.
