As a kid who didn’t want to light the fuse on a bottle rocket and watch it scream off into the sky? Well, Go To Team’s Director of Photography Skip Clark is all grown up, which really just means the bottle rocket is a lot BIGGER.
The Daytona 500 gave Skip a chance to relive his childhood Fourth of July, only this time instead of a bottle rocket Skip was playing with a custom made Fox Sports sign that was hooked up to a 50 gallon propane tank.
The “”Fire” set allowed Fox to get some great high-definition shots of Nascar drivers around the sign as it exploded into flames. This footage is used throughout the Nascar season in teases, bumps and packages and is essential to making cool tv. Check out what Skip had to say about the fire set here.
