A Room NowThe San Carlos Tribal Gaming and Healthcare Services come together to reduce the transmission of Covid-19
San Carlos, Ariz. — The San Carlos Apache Tribal Gaming Enterprise, in conjunction with the Department of Health and Human Services, San Carlos Apache Healthcare Corporation, and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, has implemented the BinaxNOW antigen test for all team members as an additional COVID-19 mitigation measure to reduce the transmission of the COVID-19 virus amongst team members and guests.
The BinaxNOW antigen test is used for the detection of active COVID-19 infection. It is a portable, highly reliable test with an accuracy rate of 97.2%. The test requires no equipment plus it’s fast, easy, and provides results in as little as 15 minutes.
The mandatory testing started on January 27, 2021 for both the Apache Gold Casino Resort and Apache Sky Casino team members. Team members are required to submit to testing twice a week for at least six weeks. Security personnel and other qualified team members were trained to administer the BinaxNOW test kits. Healthcare and Gaming leadership has also implemented a very comprehensive plan while executing this initiative along with the support of Department of Health and Human Services and San Carlos Apache Healthcare Corporation.

Apache Gold Casino Resort and Apache Sky Casino are owned by the San Carlos Apache Tribe. This tribal land covers over 1.8 million acres in eastern Arizona, from the Sonoran Desert, to Ponderosa Pine Forests. The Tribe’s ancestral lands once stretched across Arizona into New Mexico. About the BinaxNOW COVID-19 Ag Card Home Test and NAVICA App
The BinaxNOW™ COVID-19 Ag Card Home Test is a lateral flow immunoassay intended for the qualitative detection of nucleocapsid protein antigen from SARS-CoV-2. This test is authorized for prescription home use with self-collected observed direct anterior nasal (nares) swab samples from individuals aged 15 years or older who are suspected of COVID-19 by their healthcare provider within the first seven days of symptom onset or adult collected nasal swab samples from individuals aged four years or older who are suspected of COVID-19 by their healthcare provider within the first seven days of symptom onset. The BinaxNOW COVID-19 Ag Card Home Test is to be performed only with the supervision of a telehealth proctor.
