Walk Through Time in the Historic District
Take a walk back in time by visiting the Old Dominion Historic Mine Park just north of the Historic District and see how Globe contributed to the copper supply between 1880 and 1930. Just south of the Historic District is the Besh-Ba-Gowah Museum and park, where you can learn about the Native Americans of the area.
If neither piques your interest, you can always explore the Historic District on Broad Street. The Historic District is home to the Holy Angels Catholic Church, founded in 1918. Other interesting visits include the Gila County Historical Museum, Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center, Cobre Valley Center for the Arts, and the Pickle Barrel Trading post.
Visit the Globe Chamber of Commerce
Their facility was architecturally designed with arched windows and entrances to resemble the Old Dominion Library, which burned down on March 12, 1981.

Cobre Valley Center for the Arts
If you don’t know what to do in Globe, AZ, Cobre Valley Center for the Arts is the perfect place to go. Often referred to as the heart and soul of Globe and housed in the fully-restored former Gila County Courthouse, CVCA showcases creations by area residents and hosts live theater productions. There are always several exhibits and events on the calendar. On the first Friday of each month, Cobre Valley Center for the Arts hosts a city-wide art, craft, and local merchants’ festival, complete with a food-truck round-up and live entertainment. There’s no better way to become acquainted with Globe’s historic district!

If your idea of a getaway means really getting away from it all, pack your tent and visit one of the Globe area’s best campgrounds. Here are three that are local favorites:
Pinal and Upper Pinal Campgrounds
If you have a high-clearance vehicle and plenty of time to take in the ponderosa pine forest scenery as you make your way in, the Pinal and Upper Pinal Campgrounds will reward you with seclusion and beauty when you arrive. These primitive campsites don’t offer electricity or potable water, but there are vault toilets and fire rings for your use. RVs must be shorter than 20′, and visitors are required to practice “pack it in, pack it out” and “leave no trace” principles.
Sulphide Del Rey Campground
Miners used the higher elevations at Sulphide Del Rey as a respite from the heat, and tent campers will enjoy the coolness, solitude, and scenery at this small, rustic camping area. Like the Pinal and Upper Pinal Campgrounds, Sulphide Del Ray is set in the shade of towering ponderosa pines. While the amenities are very limited, you’ll have access to hiking trails and an amazing wildlife viewing.
Seneca Lake
Want to enjoy nature, but you don’t want to camp? You can have the best of both worlds: Sleep at Apache Gold Casino and spend the day angling for trout, catfish, bass, and panfish at Seneca Lake.
